Absolutely Pure Skin Food is the whole-food of skincare; simple, straightforward ingredients make it suitable for all skins; whether yours is oily, combination, dry, dehydrated or sensitive and eczema-prone - you can customise it with a spritz of Skin Drink.
Hand-crafted with tallow from grass-fed UK cattle for its superior moisturising properties and ability to slow transdermal water loss - this is especially important to note if you have eczema as your skin may not produce much oil and will be less able to retain water.
Tallow is practically free of wrinkle-promoting, DNA-damaging PUFA with its whopping 17% skin-healing stearic acid!
Skin Food will nourish your skin, balance sebum, improve hydration, strengthen and maintain the integrity of cells, reduce your risk of developing lipofuscin and the signs of premature aging.
Only a tiny amount is required, you'll be amazed by how little you need, so run your finger across the surface of the balm rather than scooping it out of the jar.
Available unscented for sensitive skin and very lightly-scented with sweet orange or rose geranium, chosen for their uplifting, mood-enhancing aromas and non-phototoxicity.
Rose geranium is purported to hydrate dry skin, clear acne, reduce signs of aging, minimise the appearance of scars, soothe conditions such as eczema and rosacea and induce feelings of calm and relaxation.
Anti-inflammatory sweet orange is said to slow the rate of skin damage experienced from UV light exposure and pollution due to it’s high antioxidant content, vitamin C in particular.
*All moisturisers and oils are best applied to damp skin to aid hydration; your skin needs water because it’s always evaporating. Never use any facial moisturiser on dry skin. It’s a waste of product and can actually have the opposite effect as it sits there, sealing in dryness, which could cause clogging over time. You can use use tap water but the mineral content can be irritating and drying so Absolutely Pure Skin Drink would be a better choice.*
Why Use Tallow In A Skincare Product?
Two very good reasons.
1) It’s a Paleo-friendly, traditional skin-care ingredient, the use of which dates back centuries.
2) It’s great for your skin!
Grass-fed beef tallow is naturally high in the same lipids as our own skin, making it the perfect product to nourish and replenish our skin’s natural resources.
As well as having similar levels of saturated fat to human skin cells, making it uniquely biologically compatible with our skin, tallow contains the essential vitamins A, D, E and K as well as the powerful anti-inflammatory CLA - conjugated linoleic acid.
Is It Only Good For Dry Skin?
It can benefit all skin types, but it's especially good for dry skin because of its ability to slow down transdermal water loss.
Because Skin Food works to replenish your skin’s own lipids and nutrients it is suitable for all skin types, use it with Skin Drink.
Having the water element separate allows you to customise it to your skin's daily needs - some days it may feel drier than others and so you can adjust the amounts accordingly.
Is It Ethical And Cruelty-Free?
Yes. Ethical and sustainable too. The tallow comes from cattle that are pasture-raised on a farm that has high animal welfare standards.
There is no need to test food-grade products on animals, just willing humans. The very idea of testing cosmetics on animals is totally abhorrent and was rightfully banned in the UK in 1998 and the EU in 2013.

This is amazing!! I bought this with the cleansing oil after wanting to try it for months, and wow! In the first week of purchasing I have fewer blackheads, no pimples, the patches of dry skin I had are gone, my skin looks younger, healthier, and is glowing. I was going to wait a little longer to review my products, but I just had to write one for this product right now. I've been using it for a month and apply it in the morning since I have very dry skin and it's the dead of winter. Tonight, I ventured out to see the Christmas lights but before I left home, I added a thin layer of this cream. Even after a few hours in the cold, dry weather, my skin is soft, smooth and not irritated. This NEVER happens to my skin. I'm a believer!

Got rid of my red cheeks and nose!I really should have taken pictures before I started using this. I don't have acne, just really dry, ultra sensitive skin. This balm got rid of my chronic red cheeks and red skin on the bridge of my nose. My skin tone has evened out and the fine lines under my eyes have disappeared. I use the cleansing oil along with this and I am now a very big fan!

I used this for the first time several months ago, then tried another paleo brand for comparison. No comparison for my dry skin. I have a thyroid disease and am prone to bouts of really dry flaky skin. This balm totally takes care of that!

I bought a sample of the Skin Food the other day and I am in complete love with it! My face is as soft as a baby's bottom which is amazing as my face during this time of the year is extremely dry and I'm usually left with several dry spots even after applying cream.
